I recommend this place to anyone looking for quality upscale sushi in the area. Ever feel guilty using soy sauce ontop of your sushi? You will here. Personally, some of the best I've had in south Florida ... Been meaning to get here on time Tuesday's for the Uni ... But the fat cats are always showing up and gobbling it all down before I get there!!

I was deeply disappointed with my experience here today. I have been a long time fan- however- today the service was awful and my rolls were small and smelled of ammonia. So sad to see a once fabulous place become subpar. Sadly- the prices - which are high- do not meet the standard.

Best freshest Sushi ! Never had a bad meal here . Staff is attentive and friendly. Great unique dishes that others in town have tried to copy but just can't because Simon is the real deal . An expert sushi chef. The ONLY place I go for the best! Especially love the sashimi !

Eh...cute place, sushi okay...not worth the price, sorry...going to keep looking...believe me, great sushi doesn't have to be so pricey...I've have had way better for much less

By far the best sushi in Palm Beach County, mostly likely all of South Florida, and maybe the country. It's just that good. I have been coming here since it opened, it is our special occasion/can't go any longer with out having it - place. I have taken people from all over the world here and they have all said it was amazing. Advice, Don't get a normal roll, get the special rolls. My top three are no name, dum dum, and coo coo. in that order. Seriously, anyone that doesn't rate this place five stars is doing it because it is too expensive (it is pricing for the specialty rolls), because the service was not up to their standard (I could see this, but it's always been good for me, but then again I am easy going with this and they know me pretty well), or because it's in a dinky strip mall. If you don't care about those things and just want AMAZING SUSHI, Sushi Simon is your place!

Super delicious Sushi and really good and nice service. Love this place !!!

For a one off visit, I'd give it four stars. But as neighbors that have come here a couple times per month for years and years, the consistency easily deserves one more star.

I'm very picky about sushi and had a hard time finding a sushi place in Palm Beach County that I loved... Until I ate at Sushi Simon! By far the best in the County ... I drive from Palm Beach Gardens to Boynton for the Very Sexy Hamachi roll and the No Name roll... Delicious! The lychee martinis are pretty good too!

Even though I don't do sushi nearly as much as I used to, I have tried many local sushi restaurants and overall this is the "go to" place for me during the week. Let's talk sushi now... super fresh and excellent selection, but tend to come apart sometimes. Gone are the days of california rolls and simple rolls (any sushi shop can pump out the easy stuff), I like the specialty rolls and for that this place is great. I don't think their sushi is the best in Florida, but the selection is up there and very fresh. My recommendations: dumb dumb roll, sexy tuna roll and rainbow roll (you can thank me later). Oh ya' ....Pair your sushi with your favorite sake (warm or cold) and you are set! I have been here many times and have never had anything but a great experience. The staff is very attentive and always provide great service. Additionally, service is always super quick so if you are looking for a short dinner out this is definitely the place!

One of the only "good" sushi restaurants in Palm Beach. A rule of thumb is that you shouldn't eat sushi in a place that serves Thai food, which eliminates basically 99.999% of all sushi in Florida. The sushi here is legit and a great bargain given that you get sushi that is properly made. Also, a good place to meet doctors - the place has been full of scrubs every time we've been there.

I live probably 1 minute from sushi simon and for some idiotic reason, I never went. Maybe it's because it's hidden in a shopping center and i could never find it. Oh but yesterday I did! Please take note of the 5 stars. I mean it with all my heart. It's definitely a very little hole in the wall, minimal seating, but there is indoor/outdoor seating. I'm skipping straight to food. Place ain't cheap. But it's worth it. We got 3 of the special sashimi. They thinly slice the fish, and layer it into a circle on top of a sauce of your choice. We got the salmon over Tokyo sauce. Sweet with a hint of wasabi. Then the queen snapper morimoto style. It's a sweet and tangy brown sauce. And finally.... The strawberry grouper morimoto style too. Holy moly guacamole!! It was insane. All of them were, but this one was my favorite. Super fresh fish, buttery, and the sauce was a perfect compliment. We also got the dum dum roll which was insanely good. And another roll which I don't remember the name but it had this spicy mayo sauce in the middle (please see pics I posted). It. Is. Expensive. Just throwing that out there. But it is hands down the most delicious sushi I've ever had. Don't walk, run to sushi simon!!!

Sushi Simon is a little pricey, but it's also some of the best, most freshest sushi I've ever had. You get what you pay for right? I wouldn't eat here all the time if I lived close by, but it's good for a special treat. It's located in a strip mall and it's a small space inside, but outdoor seating is also available, though there isn't plenty of that either. But don't let that dissuade you! The decor and atmosphere is really nice. I've found the service to be great and attentive without being overbearing but I say that only having been here twice - most others seem to not agree. The sushi rolls are a great size, and they put thought into the food presentation. They also have a decently sized drink selection, but I haven't had any of them. Shame, right? Shame shame shame. Maybe next time.

Very good sushi and nice atmosphere. A bit pricy but worth it. Four stars since several times we would have liked to sit outside but the temperature is a bit cold for us Floridians. Please add some heaters for the outdoor seating.

Fish was good. Sticky rice was awful. Can't even pick anything up with chopsticks, totally crumbles & falls apart. Good flavor but horrible consistently for sticky rice. Would think they would know better.

Amazing rolls. Great quality, great menu. Never would have stopped in this strip mall for sushi, but luckily a friend told me about it. Awesome.

The sushi rolls were great! Nice and fresh and really pretty presentation. We ordered five rolls for two people: (1) Salmon California Roll, (2) JB Deluxe Roll, (3) Sexy Tuna Roll, (4) Volcano Roll, and (5) South Beach Roll. Usually, we eat four whole rolls, but we were really glad we ordered five as the rolls were a bit smaller than we are used to. The service could be improved.... Sushi Simon would have got five stars from me, except they forgot to bring our appetizer (pork and vegetable gyoza), and when they brought them (after the sushi rolls were already served) they seemed to be a little but rushed as the dumplings were full of water. We will return but hope to have better service.
(4)
Elena F.
My favorite sushi place yet! I had the volcano roll which was very yummy- I've been here about 4-5 times and have had excellent service every time. May be a little pricey but worth it to know they have fresh fish every day! Take a jacket - a little chilly in there but I guess due to keeping the fish fresh!

Woah.... I have heard good things about Sushi Simon from a coworker, and I've read the positive reviews, yet I am still surprised by how freaking DELICIOUS their food is. I ordered take-out tonight. It isn't often that I can say "this take-out food has a good presentation," but tonight, I did indeed say that (in my head... to myself). I included a picture for others to see how nicely laid out everything was. They even took the extra step to add a flower garnish to our to-go food. I'm even pretty sure they use freshly grated wasabi. It didn't look or taste like the typical bright green, prepared kind. The pickled ginger also looked and tasted fresh. At least if it is canned or jarred, it doesn't have a bright pink hue, as you can see in the pictures. I'm personally not into eating things which come in unnatural colors, which often signify unnatural chemical additives. Here's what we ordered: - 1 order of toro sashimi (It was buttery, fresh and oh so delightful. It even comes with its own light sauce, which tastes like sweet soy with a bit of toasted sesame oil) - 2 orders of escolar sashimi - 1 order of hamachi sashimi - 1 Hamachi Jalapeño Roll (this should be called the flavor-splosion) - 1 King Crab California Roll (yes, REAL crab... Notice it is not spelled with a "k") - 1 Crystal Roll Everything was top notch. No fishy smells. No bland, watery fish that had been obviously frozen for who-knows-how-long. Just very tasty, very fresh sashimi and rolls with fast, friendly take-out service. It may be too soon to tell, but after tonight, this restaurant makes the top 5 for best sushi places for BOTH my boyfriend and I. We've lived in Dallas and in the San Francisco Bay area (both places have significant Japanese communities). My boyfriend has also been to Japan. I'm not saying we are experts on sushi, but I'm also saying this isn't our first rodeo. Next time, we'll dine in.

The hype is well-deserved... Sushi Simon blew me away with deliciously fresh sushi, a service staff that seemed genuninely concerned with our experience, and a great atmosphere. We had a 9PM reservation, and arrived a bit early. Our table, understandably, wasn't ready... but the staff went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had drinks in hand. They were a total class act from start to finish. Starting off, we ordered the soup that they had on that night's special menu, called "The Crazy Lucy", and my wife commented on how it was the best soup she's ever tasted. This was a spicy miso soup with a generous serving of dumplings drifting among the fresh veggies and tofu. Really good and flavorful. For the main course, we ordered 3 rolls. They all exceeded my expectations. Fresh, tasty fish, perfectly balanced with the other ingredients... and not overly sauced, which is very important to me. Yes, you may pay a little more than you do at your current favorite sushi spot, but I still say that you should pick a special night and enjoy some sushi here. I can't imagine that you'd regret it.

I found it amusing that this little spot is located directly next to a giant restaurant named rice, where sushi is on the menu. However, after enjoying a lunch here, I get it! They have a good selection of cold sake, filtered, unfiltered, dry, sweet etc. I also like that they have an ever changing menu of rolls and fish that I haven't ever seen on a menu. For example, I ordered the golden tilefish sushi which I've never seen being served. The rolls were great, and unique. A little pricey but worth it. They don't have bento box lunch specials.

Wow - what a surprise to find great, fresh sushi beneath the generic neon "SUSHI" sign! You'd never guess how good this place is from the location and exterior. I can't believe how long I've been driving past this place without going inside. I had a green salad and the ginger dressing is tasty. I can't eat shellfish so my choices were limited but that's nothing unique to Sushi Simon; everything I did have was fresh and tasted great. They even had Alaskan wild salmon, not that low tide tasting Atlantic garbage. I had a roll and some a la carte sashimi. The presentations were excellent. My friend had a couple of the $25 rolls with the lobster along with several other things. Our bill came to $117, which is the most I've ever seen for sushi but my friend thought it was plenty of food. The service was efficient and pleasant although nothing remarkable. I wish I'd seen all the specials available on a small menu that I'd assumed was a wine list. Too late I noticed all the unique, rotating items. I look forward to returning soon!

I love this place. I am so picky about my food. The menu is not large and the fish is fresh fresh fresh. The service is personable and they make you feel very comfortable. Ask for the server may. She is da bomb and will guide you to a great tasty meal. Enjoy your sushi!!!

Chris R.
The sushi is good for sure, but not noticeably different than so many other spots. The only difference with sushi Simon is 6 adults, no alcohol, just sushi and one dessert was $300!!!! THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS. I'm sorry but this isn't Atlantic Ave; its BOYNTON BEACH lol. Just not worth the coin in my opinion.

Sushi Simon is literally a hidden gem. It's located in a seedy strip center that's not even good enough for a Winn Dixie or Big Lots. I mean, it's an absolute sh!t hole. It's right near Prime Catch though, to give you some point of reference. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side, but the inside is the definition of feng shui (and yes I know it's a Japanese restaurant, not Chinese). Great ambiance, very chill and a great experience overall. The prices are steep, especially when you consider just how much of a dump the shopping center is, but the sushi is as good as you can get. Try the lobster roll and thank me later.

Pretty fresh sushi and great ambiance for Boynton Beach!! As a transplanted Miamian, I was surprised by the ambiance...the sushi was fresh with moderately-SouthBeach prices rolls from $8-$25...the service was fast and attentive...Now that I live in Boynton, I don't get sushi much so it works for my neighborhood...
(3)
Martin D.
Hands down the best sushi around. All the rolls are unique and taste really fresh. Many of them don't need soy sauce because they come with their own sauce. The sushi and sashimi are amazing. A bit on the pricey side but worth every penny! Why drive to Nobu in Miami when you have Simon in Boynton?
(5)
Dieunane F.
My sister and I had lunch there recently. We had the restaurant to ourselves for most of our time there. The menu was a bit pricey, especially for the portion size served. There was nothing extra ordinary about this restaurant, just basic Sushi for high prices. Although, I was satisfied with my meal, I am not likely to return.

(Forgot to review certain places, which is why some are on the same date) Went here a few weeks ago before moving to Orlando. The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars is because of the price. This is BY FAR, the most expensive sushi place I've ever been to. Yes, the fish is fresh, and the service is not bad.. BUT the prices are nothing short of RIDICULOUS.. and the portion sizes are way too small for the price. I really wanted to like this place, but it was just way too expensive and the portions were just way too small. The sushi I had was great, but could easily be gotten AT A REASONABLE PRICE at any other place in Delray/Boca. Also, if you look at almost any one of the reviews below, they all mention something about this place being way OVERPRICED. Bottom line, if you can afford it and don't mind small portions for an average price of $12-$14 per roll, then please go. You won't be disappointed.
(2)
Ruth M.
The sushi rolls were delicious, but were waaaay overpriced. 23 & 25 dollars for a roll is insane. The restaurant was clean and very nice. The service was great. We will not return due to their inflated prices.
(2)
Ramon V.
This place is not bad, but it's also not amazing. I would say its average at best, unfortunately the prices are not average. If this place were much cheaper I would probably give it 4 stars but for the prices they charge I would expect more. Especially being they are in a shopping plaza in Boynton Beach not really prime real estate here.

Maybe the freshest sushi I have ever had. This could be my new favorite sushi place. It is expensive, but worth every penny.

This place is a sushi lovers dream come true! I have been a long time customer that has tried everything on their menu and have yet to be disappointed. It has an intimate feel and great waitstaff. A true hidden gem.

Since someone I know has been raving about this place I made her take me here this week... The atmosphere is small and cute nice lighting but seriously a tiny lil spot... The waiter was very nice and friendly, we asked about the specials but they had ran out already and it was only 7:30 I guess the early bird crowd cleaned them out lol.. We tried 2 different rolls and right now I can't remember what they were I think 1 was a sexy roll it was good but I liked Brenna's roll better but I can't remember what that 1 was either.. lol The Dessert is really good as well I tried a bite of the guy next to me and it was yummy... It def is pretty pricey but I will def come here again maybe on a date so I don't have to pay.. lol

Ate there the other day for the first time and the fish was VERY fresh and everything was delicious. I was very impressed with the food! I would have given them 5 stars, except the servers were rather rude. When we walked in there wasn't anyone at the front to help seat us so we just sat down at a table. After about a minute, a waiter asked if we had a reservation, when we said "no" he rudely told us we could only eat outside or at the bar. My wife and I literally saw the same exact thing happen to 3 other couples throughout the night. Honestly, it wasnt that bad, I just dont understand why they dont have a hostess. I will definitely be going back because the food was so good, and now that I know about the seating policy it shouldnt be a problem.

OK, so was really excited to go to Sushi Simon with our friends . . . Plus' - Food quality is very good Negatives - Overpriced, SMALL portions, unattentive waitstaff. This is FL, not NY! WAY Negative - Stopped serving at 9:45PM on a Saturday night, and did not inform anybody of this. When we went to order more, we where told, "We already had last call." Now this place is not exactly large, so if they announced this, they did it in their head. Also, last call meant EVERYTHING, no food, no drinks, everything. Since we had just spent $300+ on dinner, the least they could do is be more attentive and more accomodating! Would love to go their again, but restaurants need to EARN their business!

Quaint Sushi Place. Very tasty. Very cool downtown vibe. Very enjoyable for small groups. +4 call ahead so they can accommodate you.
Stopped by for an early Sunday dinner on the recommendation of a blog (listing one dish in the blogger's fave 100 meals in Palm Beach and Broward counties). It's tucked away in a strip mall with a very plain exterior. The inside is nicely decorated in shades of red and gold. Not fancy, but fancier than you'd expect for location. Our waitress was great. She could rattle off all the ingredients in the signature rolls and made recommendations based on our preferences. We tried the recommended Snapper Morimoto. Great. We tried the No Name roll. Also great. Then the Just Like That roll, which was in the top 5 rolls I've ever tried. Complex, fresh flavors, with surprising touches like cilantro and small particles of crunchy, caramelized garlic. No, the food doesn't disappoint. Even the a la carte sushi was top notch. I only subtract a star for the price. Signature dishes/rolls are between 20-28 (with prices not listed) Special rolls 12-20. There are a few in the 8 dollar range, but who goes out for sushi and gets the simplest stuff on the menu? If money is no matter, or you wanna blow a little cash on some unique rolls, come here. If you're just needing a basic sushi fix, there are much cheaper places out there that, while less creative, are of similar freshness and quality.

Sushi Good!

Snop S.
The sushi here is very good, especially compared to other restaurants of the same genre in the area. There is a jalepeño roll that has amazing flavor that is very fresh and resembles ceviche. The problem is the prices are very inflated, so much so that I won't go back as the taste cannot trump the cost.
(4)
Michelle G.
For a small place in a bit of a strange location, this little Sushi joint rocks! Super fresh fish and great varieties of rolls that I'd never had before. This place makes creations further than your average "spicy tuna rolls". Kudos to the chef! Definitely try the specials! Polite and smiley waitress was more than helpful and attentive. Will be going back most certainly!

I seriously do not understand how places like this get good reviews. I have never left a review before but felt compelled to write one for Sushi Simon simply for the fact that this is one of the most overpriced restaurants I have ever eaten at. Sushi was decent but SUPER expensive for food that I could have gotten anywhere else. And it's not even like it's a restaurant on Atlantic (where the restaurants are MUCH better by the way) where the prices are somewhat justifiable - here, it's simply expensive/overpriced/small portions, situated in a strip mall next to Winn Dixie. Take note: they give incredibly small portions-the sushi pieces are EXTREMELY small with barely anything in them. And i'm not being picky- I live in Paris, one of the most expensive cities in the world, and pay half the price for sushi there for MORE. Definitely not worth your money. My meal was $25 (for takeout) and I was still hungry afterwards. Will not be wasting my money here ever again.

Best sushi hands down! I've had sushi in California, Maryland, DC, Virginia, New York, and other parts of Florida. The sushi is fresh and the service is great! Their lychee martini was delicious and their snow sake was really smooth. This is a place worth trying. I'll be driving from Orlando just to have the best sushi in Florida at Sushi Simon!

The best sushi I've had in my life and probably ever. I found out about this place through my boyfriend who was brought here by a local friend. A local gem and not a big touristy (we're from out of town) place.

Read some great reviews so I had to check it out. The good folks at Sushi Simon did not disappoint. The food was great across the board. Had a couple specials; rainbow tartar that was incredible, and the trout tokyo style fish was very fresh. Will be coming back again for sure. The chef sauces were all amazing as well. Also a crazy lucy special soup which was basically miso on steroids was great as well. Don't go for the ambiance as we were seated outside due to it being pretty packed on a sunday night and on the sidewalk at a strip mall isn't exactly ideal but they could have sat me in the bathroom for all i care. Top notch fresh fish and original rolls, lots of cilantro which is awesome.

More rice than fish. Staff acts like they're doing you a favor. Small salad No dressing. Keep on going.

Worst sushi place ever. Overcharged for sushi. Cokes for over two dollars apiece. Service was horrible.

Wow, is all I have to say. Sushi is amazing. They have really different rolls & the tastes are amazing. A must try

Kristin M.
I am giving Sushi Simon a 4 star rating because of their high prices. However, if you take pricing out of the mix, I give the sushi 5 stars. I had dinner here the other night with some friends, and while I have been here once before, I really noticed how delicious the sushi was this time around. I highly recommend the Sexy Tuna roll- by far the best roll that I tasted that night. I ordered the Salmon Skin roll which was also delicious. They have a good wine selection as well- both high and low end pricing. The ambience is great as well- you do not feel as if you are in a strip mall sushi joint (although it is in a strip mall). To top off the meal, I ordered the tempura cheesecake for dessert and it was phenomenal-- cheesecake fried in batter, with a side of ice cream and chocolate sauce. Despite the prices, I would definitely come here again because the food was so good.

Best sushi in Boynton hands down. The staff is always friendly and the sushi is always fresh. They have the most unique combinations of rolls. My guilty pleasure is the super crunch roll and the Kahula chocolate cake!
(5)
Jeffrey L.
Great Sushi, if you're feeling like spending the money, get the volcano roll. It's Maine lobster...sooo goood!
(4)
Dani B.
Totally delicious! They have incredible flavor combinations that you can't find anywhere else (LIke the Kawaii Maui roll with coconut shrimp, macadamia nuts, cream cheese, pineapple...) As well as the standbys like Rainbow Roll, and JB roll (which are much fresher and much more delicious than anywhere else). My boyfriend and I both testify we've never had better sushi even when we were living China and Korea. There are also dumplings, soup, edamame, and that sort of thing. The size of the restaurant is really small, but super cozy. You would never expect this place to be as awesome as it is from looking in on the outside of the mall plaza, but trust me when I write this is a diamond in the rough. It took a minute for anybody to see us when we entered, but we were promptly taken care of when they noticed us standing awkwardly by the door. The waitresses were all very nice and our particular waitress was super sweet. I also loved the menu which was metal. After reading the reviews on yelp, we expected the meal would cost us a lot (we had the special rolls and no wine), but it actually was quite reasonable and well worth it considering not only the absolute deliciousness of the rolls, the pleasantness of the waitresses, and the nice atmosphere. Yay for Yelp otherwise I would have never found this place.

Jaan T.
Don't be fooled by how small it is or the fact that it's in the strip mall, this place is really good. It isnt cheap but it may have the best sushi in the area.

nadeen b.
Nice atmosphere does not make up for very expensive "special" rolls and sashimi that were not priced on the special menu. I asked about certain rolls the server was suggesting only to be told they were $25. She suggested that we taste the tuna that they had that day and we were shocked when we got the bill with the $22 sashimi special that consisted of 4 pieces of fatty tuna- not at all worth the cost - most of the other sashimis were in the $7 range! I spoke with the waitress and exressed my discontent with the price of the "special tuna" and she shrugged her shoulders ........ All food was fresh and great tasting but not worth the $80 price tag - better sushi restaurants around with the same quality .....
(3)
Matt K.
This place was a major disappointment. We heard great reviews but the quality was low for almost every item we ordered. Our server was rude and focused on up-sell items. We didn't finish some of our very overpriced items. Place was just lousy. Will never return.

Jay D.
Drove all the way to East Boynton for a sampling of Sushi Simon and man, it was worth the trip. I had the Very Sexy Hamachi roll, which could possibly be the best sushi I have every eaten. I also ordered a Bahamian Roll (spicy conch), it was great. The beer selection (I love all Sapporo products) is great. I paired my brew with a hot saki. The whole experience was great. Kind servers and awesome sushi.

Sushi Simon is literally the best sushi I have ever had in my life. I have been there many times and the food and service is always outstanding. I went again this past weekend and I'm convinced I can never leave there unsatisfied. Simon is always behind the sushi bar, creating new & exciting rolls you won't find anywhere else. His attention to detail is immaculate, the rolls are a sophisticated combinations of flavors and textures and are always made with only the freshest fish. The "2008 roll" with lobster and cilantro is outstanding, the "No Name roll", the "Dum Dum" roll, the "Cloud Nine" roll (which you can only get when Simon has the proper fatty tuna) are all incredible. The Coco Cobia and Rainbow Tartare are also amazing. This restaurant is well worth driving out of your way for.
(5)
Sarah H.
I've eaten at so many sushi restaurants, it being my favorite food, and Sushi Simon is by far the best of the best. Its located in in a strip mall, but don't let that fool you. The service is always very friendly and the sushi is fresh, exciting, and delicious. I usually take recommendations and try the specials.

Having come back recently from Seattle after living there for 11 years, Sushi Simon was the best we have had in Florida. We have amazing sushi in Seattle so it was really hard to compare but Sushi Simon was wonderful. Fantastic all the way around. Service was impeccable, atmosphere is intimate, and they food was incredible. We will be weekly customers!!!!!!

Great service and delicious sushi. Their specialty rolls are the best!! North of the Border is a must, consisting of king crab, salmon, a couple of fresh herbs and a homemade sauce. All f their homemade sauces take the rolls to another level.

Would be 5 stars, but WAAAAYYYY expensive! Best sushi I've had in FL. Worth it for me, on special occasion, with just a party for two. Too expensive for groups, unless you are a 1%er group...

The absolute BEST sushi ever. You will never be able to enjoy sushi anywhere else. Lucy and Simon hand pick all of their fish and every dish is made with TLC. The sauces are all homemade and are absolutely delicious.

This is Boyntons best kept secret! I've been eating here since it opened. The owner is also one of the sushi chefs, and the quality of fish is outstanding. I love the Ichigo roll. It has strawberries and crushed macademia nuts. Yeah, I know that sounds gross raw fish and fruit, but try it! You will always find some new and funky rolls on the menu. They have a some great martini and a good selection of Saki and wine. Granted , it is a little pricey, but when your eating raw fish do you really want to take a gamble on food poisioning! Ok now the down side.... It's next to Prime Catch which is packed with the 80 and over Leisureville crowd, so you make risk your life parking and walking through the parking lot.... But it's worth it
(4)
L K.
Wonderful sushi, best I've had since moving here from Florida, which is a shame considering how much fresh fish is here. The price, however, is Nobu expensive. Went for lunch with my 10 year old son, and it was over $80 with tip, and all we had was two rolls, some sashimi and edamame. Of course now that I am writing this review, I am craving it. Might have to hit it one more time while we are still at the beach house we rented for the month.

One of my favorite restaurants all around - intimate setting, impeccable service and the sushi is the best I have ever had. I eat here as often as I can. Easy to miss, next to Prime Catch on Federal Highway but do not miss this place!

Sushi Simon is a total sleeper sushi bar, tucked away in a typical south Florida strip mall. The himachi jalapeño roll is the best roll I've ever had.

Miso soup is the most simple element of a good Japanese meal. $4 for a cup for watery, flavor-lacking soup is pretty ridiculous. Avoid it if you can. After reading positive reviews about the shrimp dumplings, we went for it, but were severely disappointed. They were soggy, previously frozen tasting and the filling was 60% doughy filler. So, skip those as well. The rolls were the best part of the meal. I've never experienced paying $20 for a roll, but maybe that's normal for these parts. We had the king crab california roll, spicy tuna roll and the ocean dragon roll. They were all pretty good. The spicy tuna roll was had a heavy sesame flavor and little spice. The ocean dragon roll was great. The asparagus was perfectly cooked and the cream cheese was subtle and worked surprisingly well. $18 seems very over-priced, but it's a decently large roll. The lychee martini was light on alcohol, but had a great, not too sweet flavor. I was happy to get 4 lychees in the drink, as well.

This is my second review of a sushi place in Boynton Beach. And yes, I went to both in less than 24 hours. And yes they are both amazing. But totally different experiences. This place has excellent atmosphere and is definitely not a strip mall sushi joint. Even though it's in a strip mall. I'm pretty sure everything here is in a strip mall. This place is not your average, every day average priced sushi. It's effing amazing but not cheap. Worth every damn penny. I went with two other people and between the three of us, we got three rolls, three salads and one drink and spent $80 with tip. Not terrible but certainly not something I'd do every day. The fish was incredibly fresh and presentation was superb. The one thing that bugged me (it actually bugged me so much that I almost knocked them down a star but changed my mind at the last minute) was the wasabi. It did not at all mix into the soy sauce. The girl I was with said that it was just really fresh but it was like grated or something and not mashed so it didn't mix. Maybe that's just me being a whitey though and not getting how it's supposed to be done japanese style. Whatev...sushi was still amazing and the server didn't even laugh at us when one of us needed the cheater things to go on her chopsticks =)

Wow is the sushi fresh. This place is the real deal and as good as some of the best sushi restaurants in NYC. Unlike most Japanese restaurants in fl - this place specializes in sushi (the chef is Japanese and not Chinese or thai like most places) - that should tell u something in itself. The portions are not huge like most places in fl - but living in NYC - was used to it. They don't put a ton of rice to fatten up the sushi - they just concentrate on the fish. Really a great find. Thx yelp!

Food was very good but the attitude was that they did not need our bussiness. The portions were small for the prices. We drove 50 minutes to try this restaurant. We arrived at 9:00 and were seated for dinner. We were asked if it was our first time here which it was. We ordered drinks and 10 minutes later appetizers were ordered. At around 9:30 we ordered some sushi rolls. The portions were small and we wanted to order more rolls and get a refill on drinks but when we tried to do this we were told we missed last call and they would not serve anything else. Not even a drink. Our waitress never came over to ask if we wanted anything else so we could not get any more food, drinks, or dessert. She also never notified us that it was "last call". Wish they would have told us when we arrived that they would only be serving for another 45 minutes as opposed to telling us half way through dinner that we could not order anything else. I always thought that restaurants stop seating people at a certain hour but I thought they usually wait for those seated to compete their meal before they close the kitchen. I would have thought at the very least our waitress would have come over to tell us it was last call or to even ask if anyone wanted coffee or dessert. Nope we were basically told "you're done". Needless to say this was a big turn off and not the best way to treat customers.

i would give even more stars if i could. this place is top of the line sushi. it is incredible tasting, beautifully presented sushi (like art) of only the finest quality. the daily specials are phenomenal but so is everything else on the menu. you get what you pay for- worth every penny.

Pros: Very fresh fish. Wide variety and selection. Beautiful presentation of rolls. Very very tasty food overall. They are very open to customizing rolls. Cons: Pretty expensive. We ordered one of their "special" rolls and it was $25 for just 8 pieces. Small restaurant and awkward layout. We were crammed in a corner by the door. Saw another yelp review that recommended the Lychee Martini. A little sweet for my taste but not bad. We got an order of the Pork Gyoza that the server recommended and were pleased. Every roll we tried was good, we were just stunned when we got our $85 bill and weren't even full. Would definitely go back... Maybe on pay day.

I've only been here once and only tried a few rolls. The sushi was good, but I wouldn't say it was better than other sushi restaurants. Some of the rolls were pricey, but some were average priced. I would def. say the rolls were on the small side, perhaps the smallest I've ever seen. The service was good. The leechee martini was good too. I would return, but wouldn't make it my go to place.

Very good sushi but way too expensive ($28 handrolls in Boynton Beach?) Also, watch out for double tipping. They include tip in your bill but when they run your card there is a blank space for tip. Devious.

I can only afford this place once a month or so and after pay day because they are so overpriced!!! The sushi is fresh and their hot sake is hot, so I keep going back. The service is bearable, but owners do tend to make YOUR business unappreciated! I also wish they made vodka lychee Martinis.

One of the best in the area for Sushi. Some great Sushi Rolls and nice quaint location. The only drawback is your going to pay the extra cash for this sushi but it does stand out.

The sushi I have had here have nothing but amazing, and I eat sushi pretty often. All of my friends that I have brought here rave that it's the best they have had as well. If you like to try something new and different, ask the chef for his suggestions and your taste buds will thank you later.

This is our favorite sushi spot ever!!!! My husband loves the South Beach Roll and says it's the best sushi roll ever, and I always get the Very Sexy Hamachi (great for a girl who eats healthy and wants good taste, too). Also, we love supporting local family businesses. :)

We only order from the Chefs menu, expensive but the best Sushi in the area. Very nice staff. Definitely worth a try, super fresh.

Absolutely the best sushi around - so fresh & interesting... Simon runs a fab cooked kitchen as well - try some seared fish w/ his special sauce..it's all a bit pricey but totally worth it..!

Sushi Simon has seriously tasty sushi. This is a smallish restaurant, but it has a very sexy atmosphere. I wish I could remember all the rolls my friends and I ordered. We chose five from the specials menu and every single one was amazing. Their negori was also very good. A bit sweeter than all others I have tried - highly recommend. Oh yeah.. you do NOT want to miss out on their chocolate kahlua cake. Holy shnikes, it is absurdly good! Service was friendly and you just feel GOOD enjoying your meal in this restaurant. 4 stars instead of 5 because it can be quite pricey.

Wanted to try out a nice local restaurant while visiting the family. Thanks to my sister she took us to Rice but they were closed. We just walked next door to Sushi Simon. We had a party of seven. We sat outside; a perfect evening for sushi. We ended up ordering six rolls: crunchy roll (no creme cheese), California, spider roll, 2008 roll, & two others from the day's special. Oh, I cannot forget the visual & tastefully titillating appetizer of sliced snapper. You've got to try that dish, it is a must! Too bad I didn't take any pictures to document the great sushi I had. I was too busy enjoying the food & the moment with the family. The food was on par with some of my other great eats. However the wait staff was okay. We had at least three waitresses helping us out. But I felt as if something was missing from the service, can't seem to put my finger on it. Will definitely come back to this great local restaurant whenever I'm in town visiting family.

Ate here early this evening. It was absolutely delicious. The sashimi was fresh, tender and cut exactly the way I like. The seaweed salad was great. The only not so positive were the portions. Small rolls and the glass of wine was extremely under poured. Other than this the quality of the food was top notch. Just be prepared to spend a lot of cash for not a lot of food and drink.

My 2 friends and I u had dinner at sushi simon 3 weeks ago. They had 3 empty tabels and chose to seat us at the front door. We requested a seat change and they happily granted our request. Our menu came with specials without prices next to them. We thought that very odd. Also there were no descriptions if the rolls. The waiter wasn't all that friendly. Didn't feel like a really comfortable situation to us. We ordered ice to and got green tea that was very strong and not all that tasty. They replaced it with black tea but by this time the atmosphere at the table was strained. We ordered 2 teas, one wine and 3 rolls. Our total was $86.00 before tax. Not a great experience. The food was tasty but not worth the money. Thumbs down here!

OK Sushi with attitude! Poor management!! We have enjoyed OK quality sushi for the most part at SS on a regular basis. Last night after returning from an extended stay in NYC, we decide to have some sushi at Simon. First of all we must say that the servers are all great. We had some of our favorites as usual but everything was just a little off. The wild salmon was rubbery and tasteless. We actually mentioned that the Toro was sub-par and sent it back. Thats when the problem started the waitress was fearful and had to ask Lucy what to do?? we were then told Simon says you must pay for half the toro !! We have never sent a dish back at any other restaurant and have been asked to pay for it. BTW: We are foodies and I do have a food blog andour average bill with sake at Simon is well over 200 dollars. I politely told our nice waitress to inform Simon that if he insists on treating us in this unprofessional manner we will not return. He did and we have eaten our last meal at Simon..... It's time for Simon to appreciate his customers before he has none.... * * *

Although the food was good, the prices on the evening specials, which weren't priced on the menu, were outrageous. Really ridiculous and curiously at least double anything on the menu where price was indicated. Two small appetizer size sushi dishes...$51! On a Saturday night the place was empty. I should have known. We'll never return.

Sushi Simon is our go-to sushi place in Boynton Beach. We absolutely love their spicy tuna salad (spicy tuna with a side of salad with ginger dressing) and I am particularly fond of their tuna california roll. Great selection of rolls, reasonable prices. The service is good, not great, some of the waiters seem to have a bit of an attitude but the food is always served in a timely manner. They aren't bad just not super friendly. Don't be swayed by the outside appearance (it's in a strip mall next to a grocery store) the inside is nice and the food is awesome. One time we saw a fisherman bringing in a freshly caught fish right into the kitchen - so if you are looking for fresh sushi then Sushi Simon is a great choice!

Mediocre at best. There was absolutely nothing to rave about here. I guess the people who give 5 stars to this place don't get out much. The sashimi was below average and portions were scrawny. Service was amateurish. The outdoor seating is a joke; you're basically sitting amongst parked cars. Not living in Boynton I have no other recommendations.

Besides the cost being ridiculously high, the attitude of the waitstaff was awful. We were not difficult, they were rude. Another complaint: gave us a specials menu. No prices, no description of what any of the items were. In order to get info waiter would have to stand at table for quite a while to explain. Amazing. I have been eating sushi for over 40 years. Not so good. Try bike fin or rise. Never again will we go to the restaurant.

This place is a little overhyped. For the cost of eating here, I expected the place to be a bigger/nicer/chicer place. There are some very unique rolls and they are all delicious. The fish was all incredibly fresh. If youve had a long and active day, dont expect to be satisfied. You will be left with a 120+ bill for 2 people, and youll walk out hungry. The service is mediocre at most, in fact, our server never learned how to smile. However, if you are looking to spend money on tasty, fresh & undeniably unique rolls--Sushi Simon is the place for you. Ambiance = 3 Service = 3 Cost = 3.5 Food = 5

If you look for standard sushi this is not your place ....... You can certainly find tradition in the Simon sushi menu .... What is important for Simon sushi is the creation. The rolls are made with fantasy and love. They combine the Japanese culture with the tropical spices. Every sushi roll is unforgettable experience, absolutely fantastic combination of tastes. .... And I love the sake martini!

The sushi is pretty good. However, the prices are quite high for sushi and drinks, and the clencher was a bowl of ice cream without a price on the menu turned out to be a single scoop for $5. If you live in the area, there aren't a ton of sushi options- this isn't a bad one, but if you're willing to travel to WPB or Delray/Boca you can find better quality and better prices.

Stopped in for lunch to go. Ordered a Seared Tuna salad. The food was very good and the salad greens were fresh, HOWEVER, the portions were so small for the price. I was still hungry. I paid $15 for this salad and there was about 7 small pieces of tuna strips and the salad greens did not even cover the bottom of the plastic container they put it in. I have ordered this dish elsewhere and almost could not finish it. Sorry, I will probably go back to my regular spot.

I have a little departure ritual from Tokyo - before I leave I always stock up on my beloved sushi because I know it's soon back to burgers and turkey sandwiches.... Nearby the train station there is a fantastic little sushi place fit for "Diners' Drive In's and Dives"...quiet, comfortable, a little off the beaten path (to the extent that this exists in Tokyo!), but with just amazing sushi and adoring/attentive staff. Well, I thought for a moment today I was sitting in that place in Tokyo! Ok, back to Boynton Beach, but it was really a religious experience for me to eat here. LOVE IT! I got the lunch special sushi/sashimi sampler and it was just fine! (and for $13 it beats the TAR out of Publix sushi for lunch!)

Note: On Yelp I review exclusively sushi bars. This gets my standardize average review: Decent selection and normal fare. Quality of fish is fine. The chef's interaction and detail was fair. If it were a neighborhood joint, alright, but won't travel to it again.

Sushi Simon has ruined all other sushi for me--in a good way. Theirs is so fresh and pristine, it's like eating little jewels from the sea. I actually tell people that. We love the dum dum roll, the sexy hamachi roll and the coo coo roll. Salmon sashimi is of the best quality. Beautiful presentation--there's always an orchid, even on take-out orders. Perfect example of an Asian restaurant that doesn't overextend itself by offering Pan-Asian cuisine but focuses on one type of fare and gets it right every time. My all-time fave for sushi...and it's right around the corner. Worth the cost (~$20 per specialty roll).

(5)Lori W.
I was deeply disappointed with my experience here today. I have been a long time fan- however- today the service was awful and my rolls were small and smelled of ammonia. So sad to see a once fabulous place become subpar. Sadly- the prices - which are high- do not meet the standard.
(1)Theresa V.
Best freshest Sushi ! Never had a bad meal here . Staff is attentive and friendly. Great unique dishes that others in town have tried to copy but just can't because Simon is the real deal . An expert sushi chef. The ONLY place I go for the best! Especially love the sashimi !
(5)Michelle R.

(5)Nikoletta K.
Super delicious Sushi and really good and nice service. Love this place !!!
(5)Peter S.
For a one off visit, I'd give it four stars. But as neighbors that have come here a couple times per month for years and years, the consistency easily deserves one more star.
(5)Michelle B.
(5)Nichole R.
(4)Parker A.
(5)Jennifer P.
(5)Janelle D.
(4)Kirk F.
Very good sushi and nice atmosphere. A bit pricy but worth it. Four stars since several times we would have liked to sit outside but the temperature is a bit cold for us Floridians. Please add some heaters for the outdoor seating.
(4)Amy S.
Fish was good. Sticky rice was awful. Can't even pick anything up with chopsticks, totally crumbles & falls apart. Good flavor but horrible consistently for sticky rice. Would think they would know better.
(2)Rhonda G.
Amazing rolls. Great quality, great menu. Never would have stopped in this strip mall for sushi, but luckily a friend told me about it. Awesome.
(5)Sarah S.
(4)Elena F.
(5)Adrian M.

(5)Tanya K.
(4)Talulah M.
(5)Jordan L.
I love this place. I am so picky about my food. The menu is not large and the fish is fresh fresh fresh. The service is personable and they make you feel very comfortable. Ask for the server may. She is da bomb and will guide you to a great tasty meal. Enjoy your sushi!!!
(5)Chris R.
(1)Jason G.
(4)Antrone W.
(3)Martin D.
(5)Dieunane F.
(3)David H.
(2)Ruth M.
The sushi rolls were delicious, but were waaaay overpriced. 23 & 25 dollars for a roll is insane. The restaurant was clean and very nice. The service was great. We will not return due to their inflated prices.
(2)Ramon V.
(3)Emily G.
Maybe the freshest sushi I have ever had. This could be my new favorite sushi place. It is expensive, but worth every penny.
(5)Franchezca P.
This place is a sushi lovers dream come true! I have been a long time customer that has tried everything on their menu and have yet to be disappointed. It has an intimate feel and great waitstaff. A true hidden gem.
(5)Gianna R.
It def is pretty pricey but I will def come here again maybe on a date so I don't have to pay.. lol
(4)Tanya B.
(3)Tony S.
Really slow service but great sushi so it was well worth it.
(4)Leslie N.
Best sushi and lychee martinis. A bit pricey. But great inside, small but intimate. Great service. Our favorite sushi spot in Boynton Beach. 5 Stars
(5)Tracey C.
(3)Steven Y.
Quaint Sushi Place. Very tasty. Very cool downtown vibe. Very enjoyable for small groups. +4 call ahead so they can accommodate you.

Once again, Yelp does not fail me. I was searching for a great sushi restaurant using Yelp and I was not disappointed. The previous reviews about Sushi Simon were great and deservedly so. Sushi Simon is in a shopping plaza that I have been in multiple times and never even thought about entering. Last night we decided to try it and see what the Yelp raves were all about. My fiancé almost walked into Rice-the HUGE Asian Fusion restaurant next door. Then he missed Sushi Simon and started heading towards the Quiznos. When we walked in there were no were no host or waiter available and asked the sushi chef where we should sit. They told us anywhere. I noticed that two tables were reserved and found that to be odd. But not soon after, it was packed. Granted, it's a small space and it would get filled up pretty quickly. The decor was modern and warm. The only thing I didn't like was that the women's bathroom lights were red. I felt like I was at a rave. And according to my fiancé, the men's bathroom is blue. We started our meal with drinks of course! I noticed another patron was drinking a lychee martini and I HAD to have one. They did not disappoint. We ordered the steamed shrimp sui mai and the plating was beautiful. They also tasted amazing. They were so cute too! They looked like little buttons. We decided on the North of the Border roll, the Hamachi Jalapeño roll and the eel sushi roll. They were plated beautifully. The servings are a bit smaller than I was use to but the flavor and the quality of ingredients used were top notch. Overall, Sushi Simon is definitely one of the best places to get sushi in Boynton Beach. Just be prepared, as your wallet will feel a lot lighter when you leave.

(4)Chris D.
Sushi Good!
(5)Snop S.
The sushi here is very good, especially compared to other restaurants of the same genre in the area. There is a jalepeño roll that has amazing flavor that is very fresh and resembles ceviche. The problem is the prices are very inflated, so much so that I won't go back as the taste cannot trump the cost.
(4)Michelle G.
(4)Mary B.
(2)T N.
(5)Jake D.
Just Got Rolled Out of There.........Lucys Soup on point Sake-3 Kinds all impeccable Rolls ---Unstoppable Service--Friendly and prompt. Price--A little High
(4)georgia d.
The best sushi in the area! Great service and fresh fresh fish.
(5)Bob D.
Outstanding fresh sushi and seafood. Great ambience, friendly staff and did I mention amazing sushi.
(5)Carolyn B.
The best sushi I've had in my life and probably ever. I found out about this place through my boyfriend who was brought here by a local friend. A local gem and not a big touristy (we're from out of town) place.
(5)Dan R.
(5)David S.
More rice than fish. Staff acts like they're doing you a favor. Small salad No dressing. Keep on going.
(1)Charles S.
Worst sushi place ever. Overcharged for sushi. Cokes for over two dollars apiece. Service was horrible.
(1)Jared P.
Wow, is all I have to say. Sushi is amazing. They have really different rolls & the tastes are amazing. A must try
(5)Kristin M.
(4)Nichole W.
Best sushi in Boynton hands down. The staff is always friendly and the sushi is always fresh. They have the most unique combinations of rolls. My guilty pleasure is the super crunch roll and the Kahula chocolate cake!
(5)Jeffrey L.
Great Sushi, if you're feeling like spending the money, get the volcano roll. It's Maine lobster...sooo goood!
(4)Dani B.
(5)Jaan T.
Don't be fooled by how small it is or the fact that it's in the strip mall, this place is really good. It isnt cheap but it may have the best sushi in the area.
(5)nadeen b.
(3)Matt K.
This place was a major disappointment. We heard great reviews but the quality was low for almost every item we ordered. Our server was rude and focused on up-sell items. We didn't finish some of our very overpriced items. Place was just lousy. Will never return.
(2)Jay D.
(5)Nicole C.
(5)Sarah H.
(5)Kristina S.
(5)Diana S.
Great service and delicious sushi. Their specialty rolls are the best!! North of the Border is a must, consisting of king crab, salmon, a couple of fresh herbs and a homemade sauce. All f their homemade sauces take the rolls to another level.
(5)Micci K.
Would be 5 stars, but WAAAAYYYY expensive! Best sushi I've had in FL. Worth it for me, on special occasion, with just a party for two. Too expensive for groups, unless you are a 1%er group...
(4)Marlene S.
The absolute BEST sushi ever. You will never be able to enjoy sushi anywhere else. Lucy and Simon hand pick all of their fish and every dish is made with TLC. The sauces are all homemade and are absolutely delicious.
(5)Jeanette F.
But it's worth it
(4)L K.
(4)Agnes F.
One of my favorite restaurants all around - intimate setting, impeccable service and the sushi is the best I have ever had. I eat here as often as I can. Easy to miss, next to Prime Catch on Federal Highway but do not miss this place!
(5)Buffy V.
Sushi Simon is a total sleeper sushi bar, tucked away in a typical south Florida strip mall. The himachi jalapeño roll is the best roll I've ever had.
(5)Sonya T.

(5)Oh y.
Thx yelp!
(4)Abby Z.
(2)Tracy J.
i would give even more stars if i could. this place is top of the line sushi. it is incredible tasting, beautifully presented sushi (like art) of only the finest quality. the daily specials are phenomenal but so is everything else on the menu. you get what you pay for- worth every penny.
(5)Laurie S.
(4)Paula G.
(4)Hampton A.
Very good sushi but way too expensive ($28 handrolls in Boynton Beach?) Also, watch out for double tipping. They include tip in your bill but when they run your card there is a blank space for tip. Devious.
(2)Petie M.
I can only afford this place once a month or so and after pay day because they are so overpriced!!! The sushi is fresh and their hot sake is hot, so I keep going back. The service is bearable, but owners do tend to make YOUR business unappreciated! I also wish they made vodka lychee Martinis.
(3)Brock J.
One of the best in the area for Sushi. Some great Sushi Rolls and nice quaint location. The only drawback is your going to pay the extra cash for this sushi but it does stand out.
(5)Tin V.
The sushi I have had here have nothing but amazing, and I eat sushi pretty often. All of my friends that I have brought here rave that it's the best they have had as well. If you like to try something new and different, ask the chef for his suggestions and your taste buds will thank you later.
(5)Liz L.
This is our favorite sushi spot ever!!!! My husband loves the South Beach Roll and says it's the best sushi roll ever, and I always get the Very Sexy Hamachi (great for a girl who eats healthy and wants good taste, too). Also, we love supporting local family businesses. :)
(5)Anna B.
We only order from the Chefs menu, expensive but the best Sushi in the area. Very nice staff. Definitely worth a try, super fresh.
(5)Susan H.
Absolutely the best sushi around - so fresh & interesting... Simon runs a fab cooked kitchen as well - try some seared fish w/ his special sauce..it's all a bit pricey but totally worth it..!
(5)Brenna R.
(4)Jade N.
(4)Graceful S.
(4)Ferne W.
(3)Ivan K.
(2)Steve R.
(2)Claire R.
(4)Lucas J.
(2)Sam S.
(1)Maria M.
(3)Dessi V.
